I had lots of photos of art, and design work in my computer, and it took me so long just to narrow down my selections and to choose the photos as I had many photos which suit this theme. And finally, I decided to post these up.

Photo Hunter - Tiny

The theme of this week is Tiny.
This is the second time I'm taking part in Photo Hunter. So please comment. Thank you.

When I first saw the theme, immediately, I got a few ideas of what photo to take in my mind. But after thinking for some time, I felt that the ideas I got were quite common and no creativity. So, I have to think about other ideas.

Tiny is smaller than small, which makes my task tougher. So I decided to check dictionary hoping that I can get some inspiration on what to shoot. And guess what? I really did. Those words in the dictionary itself are tiny enough to suit the theme "tiny".

So here are 2 shots on the word "tiny" found in 2 dictionaries.


And when something is tiny, a magnifying glass or a microscope will be used in order to see it clearly. So this is a shot through a small magnifying glass.


Another idea I got is Electronic Circuit Boards.


I know posting 6 photos is quite a lot, but when I see at these photos which I think I had did better than I had expected, it will be quite a waste if I don't post them up. So do bear with me.

The 9th Panda Holder

It had already been 4 weeks and 3 days from the day since I first joined ShoutOut. Finally, I had got my panda icon. This panda is awarded to Shouters who had reached 5000 shouts. And I had broke my 5000 shouts yesterday night. Now, I will post about my speech and also the assignment I have to do for getting that panda.

If I'm not mistaken, I got to know about ShoutOut from Chee Hsien's blog. That day I was reading some posts in Angelina's blog. Then, I started to blog hop to those blogs in her blogroll list. From there I got to know about Chee Hsien's blog. That time, the latest post in his blog was the Malaysian Blogosphere Political Saga they were having in ShoutOut. After reading that funny post, I found a link at the bottom of the post, which linked me to ShoutOut main website. After browsing through some page in the site, I decided to add ShoutOut into my blog. And that was the moment I became a part of ShoutOut. Before I start my speech, I would like to apologize for the delay of my speech. I'll explain about the reason when you read further. So here goes my speech. I would like to thank the creators of this incredible widget, Lasker and Elise. Without them, there will be no ShoutOut. And no ShoutOut means I wouldn't get to know so many wonderful people in the blogosphere. Thank you very much !!!

Next, I would like to thank all the ShoutOut members, or Shouters, who had accompanied me throughout this wonderful 1 month period. We had much fun chatting in ShoutOut box. Although they had only accompanied me through that small little box, yet those moments will be something that I will always remember and something that I can still laugh at when I recall it in the future. I enjoy the time we spent shouting together, chatting all kind of stuffs. Thank you very much !!!

Before I end my speech, I'll post the assignment I was given by fellow panda holders. I would also like to apologize for not being able to complete my actual assignment. At first, I was given a task where I was supposed to take photos with 3 ladies in a shopping mall, together with the "We Love ShoutOut" card. You will say that it is an easy task, but not for me as I only had classes 4 days a week. It was Sunday when they assigned me. I had no classess on Monday and Wednesday. That means I only had Tuesday to do it before I claim my panda. But due to the tight schedule I had on Tuesday, I couldn't find any spare time to walk around the mall. After consulting with them, Dexter decided to give me an easy assignment. He wants me to take photos with my family members with the card. So here is the assignment.

But doing such an easy assignment makes me feel bad. So, I assigned myself to do other tasks. And this is the reason for the delay of my speech. Below are the photos of my other assignments.

After I have to wait until today, which is Thursday to make the button badges because as I had said above, I don't have class on Wednesday. So I can only do it today.

I had also planned to photoshop Lasker's and Elise's face into the cartoon, but my photoshopping skill is still not great and I don't have their photo which fit well into the cartoon XD (this picture showing that Lasker and Elise working hard to make sure the apple tree, which represents ShoutOut, to grow bigger and bear more apples, which represents Shouters)

Chow Vei's House Warming Party

After we reached Klang KTM station, we rushed to Chow Vei aka Youthz's house as soon as we can. When we reached there, it was already 10.40 pm and most of the guests had already left. Luckily, another friend of us, Kok Keong was still there. And luckily, there was still food left for us. The food at Bon Odori can't actually make us feel full, plus it was quite expensive. What to expect, Japanese food will never be cheap one.

After makan, it was time to explore Chow Vei's new house. It is a 2 & half storey terrace house. Too bad I didn't take any photo of outside and inside of the house. I only have a few photos which I took from Chow Vei's blog without his permission. XD

Went to Panasonic Sports Complex last Saturday with a group of friends to take part in the 31st Selangor Bon Odori 2007. But due to some reason, we were late to the event. By the time we reached there, which was about 8.30 pm, there were no more free fans for us to take. T^T

Most people will take photos of sunset at the beach. How about photos of sunset high up on the mountain? This is a series of photos I took years back when I went on a hiking adventure to Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia.

Bon Odori is summer time. The chief purpose of the festival is not only to remember one’s deceased relatives but it is also meant to be a joyful time, celebrating and bringing family members together. People in Japan entertain the spirits of their ancestors by dancing Bon Odori. It is a festival to honour the ancestral spirits who returned to his or her earthly home. It is a beautiful festival that is celebrated throughout the land of the rising sun.

While you are there, just join in the dance that goes in circles around the yagura - a raised platform where the drums are placed. Wear simple, loose clothes and flat-heeled canvass shoes for comfort and appropriate when taking part in the dance. Besides taking part in the dance, those who come also get to savour Japanese food such as kaki gori (Japanese ais-kacang), oni giri (rice balls), fried rice, fried noodles and ice cream.

8 random facts about Alvin Chew :

• I play almost every kind of ball games, ranging from outdoor games like basketball, football, captain ball and tennis to indoor games like ping pong, squash, badminton, bowling, futsal and handball. I excel in basketball, badminton, football and handball, while for the others, I know how to play them, just not really good in them.
  

• I love to play. I can play from morning the moment I wake up, until night, just before I go to bed. During weekend morning, I wake up, I play my PS2. After lunch, I on my computer and started to play computer games. Then In the evening, I will go to for sports. After dinner, I'll on my computer again to surf internet. During late night, just before I sleep, I play the games in my handphone. I just love to play.
  

• I love to sleep. I can sleep the whole day if I am given the permission to do so. Sometimes I slept until 5pm in the afternoon. After having my breakfast+lunch+dinner, I can still sleep at 9pm on that night itself. In the morning,alarm clock rings, I off it, then I go to sleep. Mum wakes me up, I sit on my bed for awhile, then I sleep again. I just love to sleep. Once I sleep, nothing can actually wakes me up. Not even loud noise nor earthquake can do so.

• I love to read comic books. I have tonnes of comic books in my room, ranging from the early days comic books like Doraemon to nowadays manga. I will surely read them almost every night, before I sleep. I can read the same old book many many times, and I can even tell out the story without looking at it. Yet, I still like to read it over and over again.
  

• I love art and craft. I love to draw, I love to paint, I love to design, I love woodwork, I love origami. I just love everything that involve art and craft. That is why I chose to study art & design in The One Academy.

• I love to eat. I eat a lot of food. In the morning I have my breakfast, then after that I'll start looking for food. Not long after my lunch, I'll start to look for biscuit to eat. Then I have my tea break. After my dinner and supper, I still can eat. I'll cook instant noodles or eat bread. Then when I go back to my room, I'll start to nimble on tit bits in my room again. I'll eat non stop if there's food available. I can finish one whole loaf of bread in 15 minutes. The sad case, I'm still so skinny. T^T I had never exceed 58kg in my life before.
  

• I love music. I listen to English songs, I listen to Chinese songs, I listen to Malay songs and I even listen to Tamil songs. I listen to pop, country, jazz, R&B, rock, heavy metal. In fact, I listen to all kind of music. I play many kind of instruments before. Flute, fife, clarinet, piano, guitar, drum, etc. But I had never excel in any of them. T^T the reason is because I only learnt each of them for a short period of time. T^T
  

• I love to make friends. I love to mingle around. I have lots of friends. I have lots of buddies. I have a group of friends where we always go for sports together. I have a group where we always have BBQ party together. I have a group where we always go to watch movie together. And recently, I have a group of friends where we always shout non stop in ShoutOut. I love my friends. I love ya 'ol. Friends Forever !!! Friendship Forever !!!
  

Yes. Finally, I had finished the meme that I had accumulated, all in one post. Hehe XD

I Hate To Buy Birthday Present For Guys

Last Sunday my friend, Jeffrey, had organised a birthday party at his house. Actually I wasn't feel like going, because I don't know what to buy for him as birthday present. If it is a girl's birthday, I will surely know what to give her as present. But, I have no idea what to buy for a guy. Plus, he comes from a rich family background. So, I had to crack my head when thinking of buying present for him.

I made some call to a few friends who will attend his party, and they said they got him stuffs like wallet, pencil case and T-shirt. I had thought of these items before, but as I said, he's from a rich family, so it would be easy for him to get those stuffs. After thinking for some time, I decided to give him something I normally give to girls as present - paper stars in a glass container.

This item might not be suitable to be given to a guy as present, but I was out of idea what to get him. So, I couldn't care much anymore. In fact, this present is worth more than money can buy because I made this myself. Furthermore, this is the first time I made stars for a guy. (sounds weird right? Like Brokeback Mountain. XD)

Looking at the clock, another 2 hours before his party. No extra time to think much anymore. Immediately, I started the work. I bet that you are thinking how can I finish making stars in less than 2 hours. No worries, because I always have ready made stars kept in containers in my room. The ready made stars

After picking out stars which I need, I started filling them into a star shaped glass container which was once used to keep jelly beans. I planned to make a rainbow pattern, which means layers of colours, but due to the shape of the container, I screwed it. T^T

The final product

After I'm done with the container, next up is the box to put it in. I searched through my whole room to look for a suitable box. I managed to find one box, a very nice and durable plastic box.

After thinking for a while of whether to use the box or not, I decided to follow the shape of the box and make one myself. I got a piece of cardboard, started tracing the plastic box and cut it out.


After that I started to fold and formed the box. TADA... no difference than the plastic box itself, except for the material. (but it was only meant to put my present inside, so why would I want to waste my plastic box? heeheehee XD)

Put in the container, and it's time to wrap it up. I searched through my room again to look for wrapping paper. I found two, one is a brand new one, another one is already used before. Hehe. (based on my kiamsiap attitude, I will surely used the old one la. XD)

For the third time, I searched through my room to find for something that can be used as a message card. I found a piece of antique black paper and a ribbon that can be used as decoration. So, made my own message card, a simple one.

The message card (please don't ask me what is the meaning of sticking the dog, the snail & the 4 petal leaf. I have no idea as well. XD)

Sticked the card onto the wrapped present and POOF !!! The present for Jeffrey was done. YIPEE !!!

gummyBOY had transformed to AlvinC

Attention to all my readers, there's a few things that I have to announce.

Firstly, there is no more gummyBOY. gummyBOY had already grown up and is now using a new name, AlvinC. So no more chewing gums, gum gum, gummy bear or what so ever. Getting lots of nickname from others is not the reason I changed my online name. I was just thinking that I'm no longer a small fella anymore and should grow up. Therefore, I changed my online name to AlvinC. This name sounds much more mature, don't you think? This name will also makes you and me closer to each other, because Alvin is my real name (It is registered in the I.C). So calling me with my real name is better than calling with the nickname.

Second, this is not a new blog. Many people had congratulated me for the past few days for my new site, but I need to emphasize here that this is not a new blog. This is still the same old blog that I used for the past 8 months since I started using Blogger. I had just changed the URL, the template and the title of my blog. That's all. I did not set up a new blog. So if you want to compliment, please do not compliment about me having a new blog. Instead, say something about my template. I do accept negative feedbacks. So tell me what do you think about my new template.

Third, it's been quite a busy week for me. I actually had planned to visit every single blog in my blogroll list, but due to the hectic schedule I have, I couldn't follow my plan. So if u don't see me leaving comments in your blog to which I had promised, don't worry. I'll do it when I have time to do so. In fact, if I do have time, I'll comment at least 2 of your latest posts. But, please do not stop visiting my blog and stop commenting on my posts. 2nd - Story Game
One night, everyone in ShoutOut box was bored. So I suggested to play a game, where i start with a sentence, then the next person says another sentence, and the objective is to make up a story.

gummyBOY: i start 1st - one day, i went to foodloft.....
minny: OKIE LET'S PLAY!
BenjiPapa: .......i saw many leng lui n leng chai......
minny: i went over to talk to the lengchai~
Chee Hsien: that game i play when secondary school leh...
gummyBOY: nvm la... juz play la...
Chee Hsien: and then the leng chai named Chee Hsien
minny: COMMERCIAL BREAK. *minny muntah darah*
daniel: who turns out to be gayish
BenjiPapa: i muntah tat day mia ice kacang out oso..**

daniel: too many story by CH la... ish ish... then suddenly a voice from Heaven call, The earth shall be destroyed, then all died and no more story to continue

BenjiPapa: got..he all turn back time..n start again ma..
Chee Hsien: minny tak boleh tahan.... set a table for battle..
gummyBOY: daniel came to da rescue... but not to rescue the beauty, but to rescue the charming.. coz he's gay...
Chee Hsien: benji so scare cause he dunno how to play pool..
BenjiPapa: ....
minny: minny gathers chee hsien, daniel and gummy. then screams "THIS IS WHERE WE FIGHT!! TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELLLLL"
Chee Hsien: daniel datang and help benji to play...
daniel: it turns out it was gummy boy in disguise as daniel, like this also disguise
gummyBOY: ...

minny: hahahaha omg why the story so complicated jor?

daniel: minny wanted to climb the ring, but too heavy bwahahaha

ShoutOut Addiction !!!

If you talk to any members of ShoutOut, most of them will surely tell you that they are addicted to ShoutOut. And I will surely be one of those people. T^T


Why is ShoutOut so addictive ?
There are a few answers to this question.

1st of all will be the friendliness of each and every member of ShoutOut.
ShoutOut members, or Shouters in short, are people who are easy to mingle with. Even though they might have or might have not known or seen you before, yet they doesn't treat you as a stranger, but as a new comer to the big family. That's the Shouters i knew since the first day I joined ShoutOut.

2nd, we can talk and chat about anything.
Anything. Guys, girls, food, movies, hobbies, education, pets, etc. You name it, and we will chat about it. Therefore no one will feel lost in our conversation.

3rd, will be the humour senses of Shouters.
No matter what time and what topic, if we can crack a joke out of it, we will sure do so. Then everyone will have a big laugh. That's what we do, making people happy. Even if the atmosphere is quite moody, there will surely be someone to light up the Shout box.

A Hole In One

There's nothing very strange about having a hole in one in the game of golf, but if someone did a hole in one in the game of Yahoo pool, HOLA !!! That's unbelievable !!!It may only happened once in a decade, and I was lucky to had witnessed it. XD

Late night yesterday, I had a game sessions with fellow shouters, Minny, aL & Shea Speare in Yahoo pool. During the 3rd round, something funny, really funny had happened. With just the 1st shot of the the new round, our fellow shouter, Shea Speare had managed to cue in the black ball. OMFG !!! That was the fastest pool game I've ever seen in my whole life !!!

To add salt onto wound, the computer wasn't able to count the ratings for the game. (Everyone player will get ratings after each round of pool, with the winner's rating being increased, and the loser's rating being decreased) A message pop up in the message board, and it was written "***This game was too brief to be counted for ratings." Wahahahahaha !!! LMFAO !!! It really was the joke of the day. Shea Speare was so pro. Even a professional pool player can't do that.
